Now the school board is building a fence behind the high school (see red line on attached map).

The CalTrans Catch-22

This cyclist was riding in what she perceived to be a bike lane alongside CA-12 when a car took the bicycle lane to use as a turning lane for Thompson Ave and almost hit her.

I contacted the county and the employees were very responsive but the "answer" from CalTrans was, well, typical CalTrans.

The gist is th… Continue

Help Save Sonoma's Proposed Fryer Creek Bridge

This message was recently posted by Sonoma resident on the Sonoma Valley Cyclists email list and I'm posting it here to help reach a wider audience.

On Wednesday, November 4, the Sonoma City Council will be discussing the use of the City’s grant-funded bicycle improvement money to build a bicycle/pedestrian bridge across Fryer Creek either at Newcomb Street or Pickett Street. On September 16, at the last City Council meeting where this bike/pedestrian bridge was considered, public commen… Continue

Thanks for the welcome, Chip. I stumbled on to your (our) group when following up on the Sonoma Velo Project. I believe Sonoma bike coalition had an e-blast that had an update on the SVP. I am very interested in following the SVP and maybe someday helping to make it a reality. I spend a fair amount of energy with Sonoma Trail Council in maint. projects.

Keep up the good work!
